Base Jack Sizes & Specifications
A useful base-jack enquiry specifies more than the overall length. The stem type, thread, nut, plate and permitted working extension all affect whether the component matches the scaffold or support system.
Start with the catalogue dimensions
TSC’s current scaffolding catalogue lists 350, 450 and 600 mm rod-type and pipe-type base jacks. The listed base plate is 150 × 150 × 6 mm. Use these dimensions to identify the supply option, then confirm the manufacturer’s drawing for your selected model.
Overall stem length and usable extension are different measurements. The amount of stem that must remain engaged depends on the system specification; it cannot be worked out from the catalogue weight.
| Length | Rod-type weight | Pipe-type weight |
|---|---|---|
| 350 mm | 2.6 kg | 2 kg |
| 450 mm | 3.2 kg | 2.5 kg |
| 600 mm | 6 kg | 3 kg |
Compare complete specifications
Ask suppliers to quote the same stem construction, dimensions, plate thickness, finish and documentation. A weight difference can indicate a different construction, but weight alone does not establish allowable load.
- Rod or pipe type, plus actual stem diameter and wall thickness where applicable.
- Thread profile and the matching jack nut.
- Plate dimensions, weld detail and surface finish.
- Allowable extension and load information for the proposed arrangement.
What to send for a Chennai quotation
Send the required quantity by length, a photograph of the existing component if you are replacing stock, and your required delivery location. Include the scaffold or formwork system name where known. TSC can check the listed options and quote the selected supply.
Support conditions, sole boards, installation and inspection must be decided by the competent person responsible for the scaffold. This buying guide does not replace a scaffold design.
